In-chair teeth whitening at Heal Dental Clinic Bukit Jalil

How much does teeth whitening cost at a dental clinic in Bukit Jalil, KL?

Professional in-chair teeth whitening at Heal Dental in Bukit Jalil starts from RM390 for the Express Whitening package, which includes scaling, air polishing and one whitening cycle. The Full Cycle Whitening package is RM790 and includes scaling, air polishing and three whitening cycles in a single visit. Both are performed by a registered dentist using the Beyond light-activated LED whitening system. Results vary between individuals depending on the original tooth shade and the cause of discolouration.

Why every package includes scaling and air polishing

Whitening gel cannot work through plaque, tartar or surface stains. Many clinics whiten over these deposits, which weakens the result. At Heal Dental, every whitening appointment starts with a full scaling and air polishing session. Your dentist removes tartar, coffee, tea and tobacco stains first, then applies the whitening gel directly onto clean enamel. You see the true effect of the treatment, not a partial one.

For some patients, scaling and air polishing alone already lifts noticeable surface staining before whitening even begins.

These are our standing package prices, not a limited-time promotion. Both packages use the Beyond light-activated whitening system from the US, which uses advanced LED technology to activate the whitening gel. Prices are per visit and include the consultation on the day. Your dentist will confirm suitability before any whitening begins. If we find untreated decay or gum disease, we will advise treating that first.

What happens during your whitening appointment

  1. Examination. Your dentist checks your teeth and gums, records your current shade and confirms whitening is suitable for you.

  2. Scaling and air polishing. Tartar and surface stains are removed so the gel contacts clean enamel.

  3. Gum protection. A protective barrier is applied over your gums before any gel touches your teeth.

  4. Whitening cycles. Whitening gel is applied and activated with the Beyond LED whitening light. Express includes one cycle. Full Cycle repeats this three times, with fresh gel each round.

  5. Shade check and aftercare. Your dentist compares your new shade against the starting record and walks you through the first 48 hours of aftercare.

Plan roughly 60 to 90 minutes for Express and 90 to 120 minutes for Full Cycle, including the scaling.

What whitening can and cannot do

In-chair whitening typically lightens natural teeth by several shades in one visit, though the outcome varies between individuals. Teeth with yellowish discolouration generally respond better than greyish discolouration. Whitening works on natural enamel only. Crowns, veneers, bridges and fillings do not change colour, so if you have visible restorations on front teeth, your dentist will discuss this with you before starting.

How long results last depends on your habits. With regular coffee, tea, red wine or smoking, the shade fades faster. Most patients maintain their result for months to a year or more, and many return for a top-up cycle when they feel the shade dulling.

Whitening is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for patients under 18, or where there is untreated decay or gum disease. In those cases we treat the underlying issue first.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Performed by a registered dentist with proper gum protection, in-chair whitening is a well-established procedure. At Heal Dental we use the Beyond whitening system from the US, a light-activated system built on advanced LED technology. In Malaysia, higher-strength whitening gels may only be used by registered dental practitioners, which is one reason in-chair whitening differs from over-the-counter strips and kits.

Some patients experience temporary sensitivity to cold for 24 to 48 hours after treatment. This settles on its own, and your dentist can recommend a desensitising toothpaste if needed. We adjust the number of cycles on the day if your teeth are responding sensitively.

Aftercare for the first 48 hours

For the first 48 hours the enamel is more open to picking up stains, so avoid strongly coloured food and drinks: coffee, tea, red wine, curries, soy sauce, cola and berries. If it would stain a white shirt, skip it for two days. Avoid smoking during this window too. Drink through a straw where practical, and use a sensitive-formula toothpaste if you feel any cold sensitivity.

Frequently asked questions

How much is teeth whitening in KL?

At Heal Dental in Bukit Jalil, Express Whitening is RM390 (scaling, air polishing and one whitening cycle) and Full Cycle Whitening is RM790 (scaling, air polishing and three whitening cycles). Both are single-visit, in-chair treatments performed by a registered dentist.

How long does teeth whitening last?

It varies with your habits. Regular coffee, tea or smoking fades the shade faster. Many patients maintain their result for months to a year or more and return for a top-up cycle when they notice dulling.

Does whitening damage enamel?

Professional in-chair whitening with gum protection, performed by a registered dentist, does not damage healthy enamel. Temporary cold sensitivity for a day or two is the most common side effect and settles on its own.

Will whitening work on my crowns, veneers or fillings?

No. Whitening only changes the colour of natural enamel. Existing restorations stay the same shade, so your dentist will assess visible restorations with you before treatment.

What is the difference between Express and Full Cycle whitening?

Express includes one whitening cycle and suits mild discolouration or a quick refresh. Full Cycle repeats the whitening three times in one visit for a fuller result on deeper, long-standing discolouration. Both include scaling and air polishing first.

Is teeth whitening covered by insurance or PMCare?

Whitening is a cosmetic treatment, so it is generally not covered under panel or insurance schemes. Heal Dental is a PMCare panel clinic for eligible non-cosmetic treatments, and we can advise on your coverage when you visit.

Can I whiten my teeth if I have sensitive teeth?

Often yes, with adjustments. Tell your dentist during the examination. We can reduce cycles, use gum and desensitising protocols, or recommend preparing with a sensitive-formula toothpaste beforehand.

Is one Express session enough, or should I take Full Cycle?

It depends on your starting shade and the cause of discolouration. As a rule of thumb, mild surface staining responds well to Express, while deeper yellowing from years of coffee, tea or smoking benefits from the three cycles in Full Cycle. Your dentist will advise honestly at the examination, and you can start with Express and top up later.

What whitening system does Heal Dental use?

We use the Beyond whitening system from the US, a light-activated system that uses advanced LED technology to activate the whitening gel. Treatment is performed by a registered dentist with full gum protection.
